GATE 2020 CIVIL ENGINEERING PAPER ANALYSIS
Over 50 public sector undertakings (PSUs) directly hire on the basis of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) scores.
Civil Engineering paper for GATE 2020 was held in 2 sessions. Approximately 1.5 lakh students had appeared for the exam.

Difficulty level: Moderate but Compared to the previous year, this year the paper was easier

- General Aptitude was easy as always.
- The paper had maximum questions from Soil Engineering and Environment.
- Geotech Engineering carried the maximum weightage of 15 marks
- Environmental Engineering carried 14 marks. Maximum questions were asked from Soil Engineering and Environment and few were easy and remaining were moderate. The paper had 25 numerical type questions
- 25 questions out of the total were numerically based.
- The highest weightage was from Geotech Engineering, Environment Engineering and Transportation Engineering.
- Paper was easier than last year.
- Most of the questions were asked form Strength of Material, Transportation, Hydrology and Irrigation, Geotechnical, Structural Analysis, FM & OCH, RCC, Environmental
